A New Beggining…
Ninaran was abandoned in the Winterbole forest while she still was a baby, at least that’s what Leralak told her. If her parents were truly slain or she was really rescued from that imminent fate by the infamous priest of Orcus, she does not know. A childhood spent between the Keep on the Shadowfell and Winterhaven, training and serving as both bodyguard and spy, left this young elf with a baggage of mixed feelings. She feels fond of the mountain enclave and its inhabitants and her foster father’s recognition for years of exemplary commitment and success to the Cult of the White Skull’s affairs. Yet she resents the village’s authorities for an unrelenting persecution and the cruel and demeaning torture she received from the person she trusted the most.
When the United Colours of Bennethor adventuring company crossed her path, Ninaran’s destiny changed forever. By thwarting Leralak’s plans and causing the necromancer’s fury to befall her, the heroes of Winterhaven gave her a new perspective of life, one full of vengeance and bitterness but also on a new righteous track. Godric, the stalwart defender of their companions, left quite an impression on her character. Ninaran was struck by the dragonborn fighter’s unyielding will, his pride in his race’s heritage and his undying allegiance to Kord. She wishes to take after his example but is not sure how to do that.
She decided to convert to Kord’s faith and abandoned the Cult’s teachings, although, even after throwing Leralak’s body to the rift she still feels a connection to the fallen cleric’s grim powers. This darkness in her soul makes her suspect he is alive and fuels an obsession around ending his existance.
After escaping the keep, she travelled southwest, beyond the the Gardbury Downs and the Ogrefist Hills, following rumors of a cult arising near the thriving village of Wintershard. On the way she stumbled upon and captured her former goblinoid underling, Splug. Despite the magics working on the circlet she placed around the goblin’s neck, while crossing the Greenmantle Forest, the goblin escaped. Ninaran may have lost his track, but not for long…
Ninaran is a loner. Despite her young age she’s stiff and bitter in demeanor, lacking the usual laughter and careless behavior so commonly seen in an elf her age. Ninaran is not interested in conversation, she is quiet and rarely speaks. If someone seeks to chitchat, she asks questions without offering anything about herself and answering a noncommittal “Ah” or “Is that so?
She is evasive and sticks to the story that she is a simple trapper and hunter. Secretly, she hunts for Leralak, whom she believes is alive, with a fiery thirst for vengeance slowly consuming her insides.
Although she reveres Kord, the only traits of the stormgod she can relate with are his pride and stubbornness. She has an old book concerning Kord’s followers religious beliefs and rituals and eagerly reads its crumbling pages often, hoping to find solace and peace of mind.
In battle she tries to take advantage of the surroundings, avoiding melee combat, taking any cover or concealment avaible or gaining a favorable position in the battlefield from where to shoot her powerful arrows at her foes.
Mannersims and appearance
This pale elf hunter has dark hair and wears a ruthless expression. She moves with grace and agility, a deadly purpose in her keen eyes. Her hide and leather trappings conceal hideous scars, particulary one shaped as a horned skull, a symbol of Orcus, which could reveal her past to strangers. The hair growing on top of her forehead has turned white, a perpetual memento from the final battle near the shadow rift where Leralak fell. She carries a longsword and a greatbow and wears an enchanted circlet around her neck.
